The most effective way to stop this proposed legislation is to educate our state representatives on the problems associated with rent control. The Georgia Real Estate Council® has contacted lobbyists who have experience in real estate issues and have previously represented groups like the Atlanta Apartment Association® and the Georgia Association of REALTORS®. In addition, we will be talking to advocacy committees at each of the 51 REALTOR® Associations all across Georgia, asking them to make their views know to their specific representatives in the General Assembly. It is imperative that we stop this proposed legislation BEFORE January. Once the session begins, leadership will focus attention elsewhere. NOW is the time for ACTION.
